The biggest air pollution problem for some time has been pouring out of an Icelandic volcano. As air travelers will know, jet engines don’t like ash clouds, so Air Monitors is working flat out with the met office to equip a turbo prop aircraft to fly through the more densely contaminated areas of the cloud to monitor its movement and the precise nature of the contamination. “It’s a flying monitoring laboratory,” says MD Jim Mills. The business now has 16 people in Bredon Court; they moved to Brockeridge from Staunton principally because of the location and access. Good telecoms and internet access were also important considerations. “We’ve been here over a year and it’s a very pleasant place to work - always spotless and well kept.
